Shucking Corn...

Well, I learned another great thing from my grandma today...How to put up fresh sweet corn (freeze). It's a fine art to make sure it comes back out of the freezer tasting just as good. Next on my list? Learning how to can my own veggies and fruit. Think of how my grocery bill will shrink next summer when I have my garden going! I'm so excited!

Okay, here is the secret. Once you shuck and wash your sweet corn, boil for 2 minutes only (with a tablespoon of sugar in the water) Straight into the ziploc and right into the freezer...quickly. When you take it out of the freezer, boil 2 minutes again with a tablespoon of sugar in the water and it's ready. it's just that easy!
